Dogs | German Shepherd in silver

Leitão & Irmão has created a collection of silver dogs that honours man's best friend - the dog.
In this edition, Leitão & Irmão workshops have created a replica of the famous German Shepherd.

German Shepherd
The German Shepherd forms a very close bond with its carer and wants to spend as much time with him/her as possible. Although it is a breed that needs a lot of attention, it will reciprocate with even greater loyalty and incorruptible guarding skills.
He enjoys learning and responds very well to training, which is why he is usually the best student in training classes.
Bred from a variety of shepherd dogs, the German Shepherd was initially designed for herding and its origins date back to the 7th century.
German Shepherds were first introduced in 1882, and the Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde (Association of German Shepherd Dogs) was founded in 1899. Through this club, German Shepherds were developed for use by the police and armed forces. The Germans used German Shepherds during the First World War as messenger dogs and to locate the wounded. The Allied soldiers admired the dogs' intelligence and courage and brought many of them home after the war, thus establishing the breed in other countries.
