In the plots of the Battle of Aljubarrota, King Jo\u00e3o I, in a reverie of love and courage, promised to erect a grandiose monument if he achieved victory.<\/p>

Among his men, a battalion stands out, intrepid and passionate, brandishing their swords in honour of love and loyalty. The courage and determination of the \"Ala dos Namorados\", as the battalion would become known, led King Jo\u00e3o I to triumph and thus the imposing Monastery of Batalha was born.<\/p>
